After quality and reputation, which Tom suggests is always a given threshold issue, he talks about a law firm's footprint. The law firm must be large enough to cover the territory covered b y AT & T. However, not many such firms exist ... and, therefore, there is room for many regional and even boutique law firms. Again, AT & T may be a little different in that it tends to be in the forefront of technology and, therefore, the law firm would be well-advised to mirror the company's technology platform if it wants to do business with this company.
